Merlin Entertainment commissioned me to write a jousting show which would tell the story of The Wars of The Roses. It was a huge challenge, not just because of the difficulty of condensing a 35-year civil war into a 35-minute family show, but because the conflict was so violent that all my possible lead characters kept dying!

We persevered. The resulting piece - Wars of the Roses: Live! - was first performed in Warwick Castle in 2017. It was so successful that it has been revived every summer since, excepting coronavirus years.
